Strategy & More -- Examples of Projects

Strategy

RKC often has facilitated strategic planning processes. Working closely with both Board and management, we have helped them to develop a new vision and strategy, with measurable goals and objectives, implementation targets, plus operational changes and a framework for communicating the new direction and strategy.

Governance

Dr. Riordan and Mr. Killian have assisted foundations, health systems and other non-profits -- as well as for-profit family-owned businesses -- to restructure their Boards to meet the organization’s new strategic direction. New criteria for selecting Board members have been developed, committee roles have been redesigned, methods outlined for the Board to evaluate its own performance, and handbooks prepared to help new Board members nderstand the new expectations and responsibilities.

Implementation and Operational Assistance

Carol and Jim also have helped organizations after they have developed a strategic direction with building the implementation plan of steps, assignments and budgets needed to carry out the new initiatives. Starting with that implementation perspective helps assure that the strategies developed will be practical. Completing a process with such service helps assure that well-intentioned plans move into action.

RKC is available for other services; additional examples may be seen by clicking on the
menu above for the sections on "Grant-Makers and Services" and "Health Care".

In addition, sometimes several organizations may have a shared need -- such as to examine best practices, or to investigate options for shared services or collaboration. RKC can design an approach so that such organizations can jointly sponsor a “multi-client” project tailored to their needs.
